If America Knew
Liberals Like I
(They’d Never Vote for Another One)
Al Qaeda is alive, and Hostess is dead. Jihad survives;
Twinkies are perishable after all.
On November 16, a week after the Bakery,
Confectionery, Tobacco Workers, and Grain Millers
International Union went on strike, Hostess sent employees at its 33 factories home and suspended operations.
Because the union refused to make a single concession.
The union patted itself on the back: “Throughout this
long and difficult process, BCTGM members showed tremendous courage, solidarity, and devotion to principle.
They were well aware of the potential consequences of
their actions but stood strong for dignity, justice, and respect.”
Well, congratulations. Thanks to your “courage,” bye-bye 18,500 jobs.
Meanwhile, liberals blamed, yes, Mitt Romney. Democrat strategist Donna
Brazile tweeted, “It was Romney vulture capitalist style management that killed
Hostess, not unions.” AFL-CIO boss Richard Trumka was on the same page:
“What’s happening with Hostess Brands is a microcosm of what’s wrong with
America, as Bain-style Wall Street vultures make themselves rich by making
America poor … These workers … have bravely taken a stand against the corporate race-to-the-bottom. And now they and their communities are suffering the
tragedy of a needless layoff.” A tragedy they caused!
In the “new normal,” Hostess is just one of many, many companies pulling the plug due to rapacious liberalism. Right now, anticipating the ruinous Obama taxes and regulations coming their way, businesses are hemorrhaging
jobs. They are in triage mode, teetering, bailing as fast as they can to try to avoid
going under. The Obama media, having given up all pretense of covering news, is
deliberately ignoring how widespread the economic carnage is. So conservative
bloggers have started compiling layoff tallies, with one estimate as we go to press
of over 100,000 layoffs at more than 125 businesses since Barack Obama was
reelected. Those numbers could well double by the time he’s re-immaculated.
And what is the left doing? Blaming the business owners. “Employers firing
people after Obama’s victory? Store owners closing their stores after Obama’s victory? It’s uncalled for and un-American,” tweeted one. “Small businesses are firing
people for retribution. Not for any legitimate reason,” posted another. “Those
slugs are laying off people already as a result of the Obama win! They want a
recession,” added yet another.
This is what you get with liberalism. Parasitism, greed, punishment of achievement, resentment, scarcity, and poverty.
If only people could understand what it means ideologically that Democrats
today are liberals. We would have never elected — or re-elected — Barack
Obama if people understood liberalism. No one who understood liberalism
would have fallen for the myth that was Obama — they would have known from
Day 1 that it was all lies. If people understood liberalism, everybody would have
known that the last four years were going to pan out exactly as they did, that
unemployment was going to rise, the government would get bigger, the private
